Bahren Shaari
Bahren Shaari was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Singapore on 1 February 2015. He was previously the Senior Managing Director and Global Market Head of South East Asia. He has more than 30 years of banking experience and is an executive committee member of Singapore’s Private Banking Industry Group which shapes the private banking competency standards of the wealth management sector.
In 2016, he was conferred the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance Distinguished Fellow award, in recognition of his significant contribution to the financial industry and outstanding leadership capabilities. Prior to joining Bank of Singapore, Bahren served as the Managing Director at UBS Wealth Management, responsible for the South East Asian and Australian Markets. Bahren is an alternate member of the Council of Presidential Advisers. He has been a non-executive and independent director of Singapore Press Holdings since April 2012.
From 2000 to 2012, Bahren served on the board of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. In 2008, Mr Shaari was conferred the Public Service Medal, and in 2018, he received the Public Service Star Medal. Born in 1962, Bahren is married with three children and graduated with an accountancy degree from the National University of Singapore.
Tan Chuan-Jin
Mr Tan Chuan-Jin is the current Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore. He was elected to the post by Members of Parliament (MPs) on 11 September 2017, making him the 10th Speaker of Singapore since the First Legislative Assembly of 1955.
Mr Tan has been an elected MP in the Marine Parade GRC since 7 May 2011. He served as the Minister for Social and Family Development from 9 April 2015 until his election as Speaker on 11 September 2017. He had also been the Minister for Manpower from 1 May 2014 to 8 April 2015.
Prior to his election to Parliament, Mr Tan had served in the Singapore Armed Forces for nearly 24 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in Defence Studies from King’s College in London and a Master’s Degree in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
Mr Tan is married with two children. He enjoys running and photography. He has published books capturing his travel photographs and has auctioned his prints in support of charitable causes.
Goh Chee Kiong
Goh Chee Kiong is the CEO of Charge+ since 2020. A leading electric vehicle charging solution provider for Singapore and the region, and as the green mobility arm of Sunseap Group, Charge+ is rapidly implementing EV charging infrastructure, in support of its corporate target of 10,000 charging points in Singapore by 2030. In September 2021, the Charge+-led consortium emerged as one of two winners of Singapore’s pilot electric vehicle charging infrastructure tender.
For the three years prior to Charge+, Chee Kiong served as the CEO for New Energies in SP Group, responsible for developing energy solutions businesses spanning renewables, energy storage, microgrids, energy efficiency and electric mobility.
Chee Kiong’s first career was with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) where he served for two decades and led the development of the cleantech, urban solutions and infrastructure sectors in Singapore. His last role in EDB was Executive Director. During his EDB career, he was responsible for conceptualising and implementing key national sustainability initiatives such as SolarNova programme to aggregate governmental demand for solar energy, floating solar testbed, growth of water industry and electric vehicle sharing programme. In 2014, Chee Kiong received the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) for his public service.
Chee Kiong has been a longstanding advocate in the cleantech and sustainability sectors and is a regular contributor in conferences and the media. He currently sits on the board of the Energy Studies Institute (ESI).
Hwang Yu-Ning
As Chief Planner, Yu-Ning oversees the urban planning and conservation of built heritage of Singapore. She is also a Deputy Chief Executive Officer with the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Singapore’s land use planning and conservation authority.
Prior to this, she has served various roles in Singapore’s public service including the Strategy Group of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of National Development.
Yu-Ning is a global governing trustee of the Urban Land Institute and a member of its Asia-Pacific executive committee. She is also a board member of Singapore’s Science Centre, Land Transport Authority and the IJ Board of Management. In addition, she currently serves on the National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Design & Environment’s Advisory Committee.
She studied architecture at the NUS and has a Master’s in Public Policy & Urban Planning from Harvard University.
Du Yi
Du Yi joined Pictet Asset Management in 2018. He is an Investment Manager in the Thematic Equities Team. Before joining Pictet, Yi worked in the Global Equity Research team of J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong covering utilities and environmental sectors in Asia. Prior to that, he worked in the Investment Banking team at Barclays in Hong Kong. Yi holds a BBA in Accounting and Finance with First Class Honors from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an MSc in Financial Economics with Distinction from the University of Oxford.
Lupin Rahman
Ms. Rahman is an executive vice president and portfolio manager in the London office. She is PIMCO's global head of sovereign credit on the emerging markets (EM) portfolio management team and responsible for ESG (environmental, social, and governance) integration across PIMCO's investment strategies. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2008, she spent five years at the International Monetary Fund as an emerging markets macroeconomist. Before joining the IMF, she worked for the World Bank, the Centre for Economic Performance, and STICERD (the Suntory and Toyota International Centres for Economics and Related Disciplines). She has 24 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics.
Braydon Barcham, CFA
Braydon is a global equities portfolio manager with more than 20 years of investment experience. He previously worked at Foord Asset Management, Credit Suisse Asset Management and Aviva Investors, where he managed both institutional and retail equity mandates. Having worked in Sydney, London and Singapore, he brings robust global perspectives to the team.
Braydon holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from Charles Stuart University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and the Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Society United Kingdom. He is also a CFA charter holder.
Yvonne Chan
Yvonne Chan is a multi-hyphenate – a versatile presenter who has taken on a gamut of roles during her career at CNA; these include helming the prime time morning belt, First Look Asia, and business news bulletins, among others. Beyond her role as a news presenter, Yvonne also fronted CNA’s Lifestyle programme, LuxeAsia, - she is a natural in front of the camera, witty and eloquent and is comfortable hosting in both Mandarin and English, often being able to adlib on the spot.
With a decade of news writing and critical thinking skills honed in the newsroom, Yvonne brings to the table a wealth of experience and is adept at moderating and hosting a wide variety of live and virtual events, ranging from ministerial forums, health or finance seminars to luxury events. She has been described as a lively and engaging host, someone who is quick on her feet and reacts fast to circumstances around her, this very much attributed to her 18 years of hosting experience.
Yvonne handles live interviews with aplomb and has a knack for bringing out the best in her interviewees and panelists, with her sunny and easy banter. Prior to joining Channel NewsAsia, Yvonne was a management associate at HSBC Singapore, before moving on to work at HSBC London. She graduated with a degree in Economics (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
Steve Varley
Steve is Ernst & Young’s (EY) Global Vice Chair - Sustainability, leading EY’s climate change and sustainability agenda globally in a newly created role that is the first amongst the Big Four. He helps EY clients create business value from sustainability and accelerate their transition to a lower carbon future. He also leads EY’s overall environmental sustainability strategy across the US$36b professional services organization and its 300,000 people. Steve is leading the organization’s efforts towards decarbonization and has overseen its achievement of carbon neutrality in 2020, carbon negative in 2021, and net zero commitment for 2025.
Steve was previously EY UK&I Regional Managing Partner and Chair of EY UK, leading the US$3.5b business and its 17,000 employees. During his nine-year tenure he drove an inclusive and green growth, doubling its revenues from £1.3b in FY11 to £2.6, in FY20. During this time, 8,000 jobs were created in the UK, more than half of which were outside of London. He originally joined EY in 2005 and has nearly 30 years of client and consulting business experience in various sectors including pharmaceuticals, oil & gas and public services.
Steve was a member of the Business Advisory Group to both Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May and was also the UK Government’s Business Ambassador for the professional services industry during this time. He was part of the business delegation on the Prime Minister’s Trade Missions, including visits to Russia, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brazil and China.
Professor Koh Lian Pin
Professor Koh Lian Pin has 20 years of international research experience in sustainability and environmental science, having worked in institutions across Europe, Australia, the United States and Singapore.
He currently is the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Chair Professor of Conservation at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also Director of the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions, and Director of the Tropical Marine Science Institute at NUS.
Prof. Koh has authored over 140 high-impact scientific publications. He is one of the most highly cited conservation scientists in the world with over 20,000 citations of his research.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of PLoS Sustainability & Transformation, Editor-in-Chief of Climate Change Ecology, a TEDGlobal and TEDx speaker, and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
Prof. Koh is also a nominated Member of Parliament for the 14th Parliament of Singapore.
Zubin Dabu
Zubin Dabu is Managing Director and Market Head for Bank of Singapore – Asia’s global private bank and the only Asian private bank to be awarded an Aa1 credit rating by Moody’s.
Passionate about ESG, he is privileged to chair the Bank’s ESG Forum. Zubin also serves as a member of the 'Expert Panel For Leadership' for Wealth Management Institute, Singapore.
